Eagle River is fed by 81 tributaries and drains an area of over 4179 square miles. The river has its source in a maze of string bogs and steadies located on a barren plateau south of the Mealy Mountains.

The Action

Fishing on the Eagle River is stupendous. The salmon runs start in late June and continue to the middle of September when the season officially closes.

The early weeks, late June and the first week of July, are usually the best for large salmon. Total fish numbers are not as high as later weeks but if you want to improve your chances at getting large salmon, this is your time. The peak weeks continue through the remainder of July and the first two weeks of August. Salmon anglers dream of weeks like these. As space in these prime spots is limited we advise booking early to avoid disappointment.

Nobody leaves Cloud 9 without an abundance of fish stories. Fishing after the prime weeks is no less spectacular. Grilse and large salmon have still been hooked right up until the season's closing dates. The arrival of the rivers population of speckled trout occurs around the end of August and provides some guests with hours of entertainment. From beginner to expert there's fishing for everyone on the beautiful Eagle River.
